Persepolis - the film
On Saturday we went to the cinema - hadn’t been in ages, so was really craving for the “real thing”. We went to see Persepolis, the movie version of Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical comics of growing up in Iran during the revolution, her first exile to Vienna as a youth, a painful return home, followed by the (final?) exile to Paris. The movie is beautiful from an artistic point of view, the drawings blow you away. And on top of it the story is breathtakingly sad, but again in such an excellent way. I think it’s a must see, so check out your local cinema’s schedule!
