Toys toys toys
Yesterday we went to see an exhibition on Japanese toys, currently showing at the Spielzeugmuseum Riehen, just outside of Basel. The exhibits ranged from kokeshi dolls (as shown on the poster) to computer games (the donkey kong foldable “game watch” was very natsukashii!). The exhibition wasn’t exactly huge, but nicely done and the balance between traditional and modern toys was good. This is actually the first time we went to the toy museum in Riehen, so we roamed the complete museum. Taking advantage of the sun, we walked back into town (ca. 1.5 hours) via the Wiese river (border river between Switzerland and Germany), only of course after treating ourselves to cake & coffee in the leafy restaurant adjoining the much more famous Fondation Beyeler.
